39 RED STAR BRAND is built around a cast-iron wheelbarrow wheel from the 1800s, named for the original Red Star Brand embossment. The shade is crafted from a collection of antique spectacle and eyeglass lenses dating from the 1880s through the 1930s. 1939 Ford automotive taillight lenses serve as dramatic accents throughout the piece. A ring of delicate glass prisms encircles the lower edge, refracting light in the vibrant orange and blue instrument and signaling lenses. Illuminated by four standard Edison bulbs, both sculptural and functional, the 39 Red Star Brand chandelier is a statement piece that transforms reclaimed artifacts into a work of illuminated history.
