FLYEYE MIRROR

FLYEYE MIRROR is composed of unused, vintage, stock optical lenses, all of the same strength and size. The lenses are arranged on a form that projects outward in a three-inch convex dome toward the viewer. An antique mirror set behind them produces an optical field of reflection, where imagery appears to curve back into the wall.

The border is constructed from 4ˮ x 4ˮ Luxfer glass tiles from the 1890s, originally used in storefront transom windows to bring light into interior spaces before electric lighting. Each corner features a tile embossed with the Luxfer logo. A 4 1⁄2-inch hand-crafted mahogany frame with a natural finish completes the piece.
