JOHN CHANDELDEERE

Size: 20” diameter X 18” high

JOHN CHANDELDEER is a distinctive chandelier featuring a shade crafted from 1911 Bausch & Lomb eyeglass lenses. The lenses were sourced new in their original box, arranged on a conical form, and soldered into a delicate mesh. Light passing through the varied lens prescriptions creates subtle optical distortions and shifting patterns of illumination.

The frame is fashioned from a vintage John Deere rotary tiller wheel, giving the piece its tongue-in-cheek name. It retains much of its original paint, and is paired with a 1930s Hemingray glass insulator. Four Edison bulbs illuminate the lattice of lenses and the tiller wheel casts soft spiral shadows across the ceiling.
