Luxfer Lantern
LUXFER LANTERN chandelier is composed of eight original 4" x 4" Luxfer glass prism tiles from the 1890s. Originally used in storefront transoms, these tiles feature a distinctive sawtooth prism pattern designed to redirect and amplify natural daylight into interior spaces before electricity became commonplace. A single light bulb illuminates the prism glass and creates a striking play of light and shadow.
The lantern is enclosed within a clear mouth-blown Venetian glass bowl and topped with a nickel-plated shower head from the 1920s. By combining reclaimed architectural elements from different eras, the piece transforms historic materials into a unique sculptural light fixture that celebrates both innovation and craftsmanship.
